The largest publicly- traded US companies are preparing to report the next round of quarterly earnings. This is the market’s chance to see how major firms are performing.
We’re expecting things to kick off with reports from investing banking giants JPMorgan, Citigroup and Wells Fargo. After that, the calendar diversifies to reflect the massive number of sectors the large caps work in.
FAANG stocks will be in focus as ever, but the second quarter earnings will help us gauge which firms are powering out of the pandemic economy into something resembling normalcy.
Analyst sentiment suggests a bumper quarter is on the way for the large caps. FactSet forecasting suggests a 61.9% growth rate for S&P 500 listed firms. That would be the highest y-o-y growth rate reported by the index since 2009.
The calendar breaks down which companies are reporting and when.
