How to Use Insider Trades

You can filter by share or scroll through to get an overview of what insiders are doing at big companies.

Take a closer look at a specific company to see 12-month transaction chart, whether the trades were informative (meant to signal something about the company’s performance) or uninformative (not intended as a signal to the market) and a detailed transaction history.

The transaction history shows you individual buys and sells, who’s behind them, what their role is in the company and how their trades rank. All featured insiders are given a star ranking to measure accuracy.

Take a position instantly from the dashboard using our state-of-the-art platform. Choose your direction, your trade size, set stops & limits as needed and place the trade in a single click.

How do insiders get their star rating?
Insiders are attributed a star ranking from 0 to 5, with 5 being the highest. The ranking is to give traders an idea of accuracy, and is based on 2 parameters:
Expert Success Rate
The percentage of an insider’s transactions that resulted in a positive return.
Expert Average Return
The measure of the average return per insider transaction.
What’s the difference between informative and uninformative transactions?
You’ll see in the tool that some transactions are labelled as informative and others are uninformative – this is important for investors.
Uninformative
Uninformative transactions indicate that an insider is buying or selling shares for reasons that do not necessarily indicate confidence in the company, such as a scheduled transaction or exercising share options.
Informative
Informative transactions are deliberately made by insiders, perhaps because they feel the stock is undervalued.
